From Ancient oceans to modern outcroppings and streams, this talk will cover the huge variety of geologic materials that record a long complex history in the Marengo River Watershed. Tom Fitz, Associate Professor of Geoscience at Northland College will be presenting.
Tom will bring some maps to put up and some samples to show after the talk.
Also, if you want to bring rocks or other earth materials, Tom always enjoys seeing what people have collected and sharing stories about crazy rocks.
Tom Fitz has been studying the geology of Northern Wisconsin and teaching geoscience at Northland College since 1999. His expertise is minerals & rocks, geological history and the relationship between people and the Earth around them.
Bring your curiosity, your rock samples from the watershed and your questions. Stay after the talk for dinner or just to socialize. If you plan to stay for dinner, please arrive no later than 5:45 to put in your order so that you can be served shortly after 7 pm.
This event is free and open to the public. If you have questions or suggestions for additional speakers, please contact Mary Wichita at, 715-765-4132 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
